Arava settlements on the eastern edge of the Negev will absorb some 2000 families within the next seven years, according to the Jewish Agency. This large-scale absorption of families, part of a new, extensive development plan for this part of the country, will be worked out in detail by the Agency Settlement Department at the request of chairman Pinhas Sapir.
