Ariel Sharon is trying to arrange a meeting with Saudi officials to discuss Crown Prince Abdullah’s peace initiative. The plan, which Abdullah outlined in a recent interview with New York Times journalist Thomas Friedman, calls for Israel to withdraw to the boundaries that existed before the 1967 Six-Day War in exchange for full diplomatic relations, normalized trade and security guarantees from Arab countries.
