A local Communist newspaper here printed a dispatch from Moscow today stating that Moscow publishing houses had issued more than 50 books by Soviet Jewish writers, in the last two years.
The report, in the Yiddish-language Communist newspaper, Neue Presse, stated categorically that the Jewish works had been published in the Russian language. Yiddish publications were not mentioned. The Jewish writers mentioned in the report were B. Miller, of Birobidjan; Alexander Grubitzki, reportedly “a new name in Jewish literature”; Jacob Sternberg, Moshe Altman, and the late Asher Schwartzman.
