A plea to send Jewish immigrants came from Bira Bidjan, Far Eastern Republic, today to the Moscow Ozet, the society for settling the Jews on the land. Of the 500 families supposed to be sent to Bira Bidjan last summer, according to the Ozet’s plans, only 300 actually went. Of this number only 100 remained, the rest returning disappointed. This explains why only 105 hectares of land instead of 605 have been sown, the Ozet says.
