The Board of Deputies of British Jews has issued a pamphlet designed to counteract the growing anti-Semitic campaign blaming the Jews for the war.
The pamphlet refutes allegations by “certain elements in this country, Fascist pro-Nazi and pseudo-Fascist,” that the country would not be at war were it not for the Jews striving for revenge for the iniquities of the Nazi regime. It recalls the fate of Austria, Czechoslovakia and Poland and points out that although Judaism admits the possibility of a justifiable war it passionately yearns for universal peace.
