The executive of Waterloo Lutheran University’s faculty committee has agreed to the dismissal of a political science assistant professor, George Haggar, who has been a vociferous anti-Israel propagandist on and off the campus.

Students and faculty had originally protested against the University’s announcement that it would not renew its contract with Heggar who was president of the Canadian Arab community. The University administration explained, however, that Haggar was not being dismissed for exercising his right to freedom of speech but because of his bitter and continuing personal attacks on the University hierarchy and fellow faculty members.
