Carole Solomon was installed as national chairman of the United Jewish Appeal. The first woman to head the Jewish community’s chief fund-raising body, Solomon assumes the helm of UJA as it enters into a partnership with the Council of Jewish Federations and the United Israel Appeal. Solomon succeeds Richard Wexler, who will become president of UJA.
