The Chinese National Government has decorated Sir Elly Kadoorie and Sir Victor Sassoon, two of Shanghai’s foremost Jews, with the First Class Gold Medal and has presented them with an inscribed tablet.

Sir Elly was decorated for promoting educational and medical work in China, and Sir Victor for his gift of a word to Dr. Sun’s Memorial Hospital. The presentation was made by Dr. H. H.

Kung, minister of finance and president of the Shanghai Medical Center.
