The John Friedman prize for the best plays in Hebrew were awarded here last night to Jacob Cohen and Igal Mossensohn at a ceremony at ZOA House attended by leading authors, poets and playwrights in Israel. The award was established by the Friedman family of Cleveland. Ohio.
Mr. Cohen received that first prize of 1,000 pounds for his historical play “Hosea.” Mr. Mossensohn won the second prize of 800 pounds for “Kambeses” a play about an ancient Persian king. More than 50 manuscripts were submitted to the judges.
