President Eisenhower’s program to admit 214,000 refugees can be completed successfully by the end of next year, Scott McLeod, administrator of the program, told a Congressional committee at a closed session, it was reported here today.
Commissioner Joseph M. Swing of the Immigration and Naturalization Service announced today designation of James Hamilton as Chief Immigration Officer for the Refugee Relief program. Mr. Hamilton, senior examiner in the central office of the Immigration and Naturalization Service in Washington for the past ten years, leaves April 14 for Frankfurt, Germany, where he will make his headquarters.
