John F. McCoy of Milford, Conn., was given a 30-day suspended jail sentence and a $150 fine this week-end for sending scurrilous letters about Abraham Ribicoff, Governor-elect of Connecticut and first Jew to hold that office. McCoy pleaded guilty. The judge who pronounced sentence noted that if it were not for the fact that McCoy was 67, he would have been sent to serve his jail term.
