Culminating the New York celebrations of the twenty-seventh anniversary of the National Home for Jewish Children at Denver, a luncheon-conference was held yesterday afternoon at the Hotel Commodore, under the auspices of auxiliaries from many parts of the country.
Among the speakers at the luncheon were: Dr. Jesse G. M. Bullowa who spoke on “Child Welfare and the Prevention of Tuberculosis”; Mrs. Betty Cohen whose subject was “The Problems of the Case Worker in Child Care,” and William R. Blumenthal who discussed “Fund Raising and its By-Products.”
In the round-table discussion led by Mrs. Samuel Heller of Chicago, the following delegates participated: Mrs. Elsie Ganzer, Chicago; Mrs. Maurice Spitalny, Cleveland; Mrs. Rose Davis, Toledo; Miss Sally Stein, Boston; Miss Gertrude Friedlander, New York; Mrs. Lillian Waldman, Brooklyn; Mrs. Marie Kaplovitz, Chicago; Miss Ida R. Kopaloff, Philadelphia; Mrs. Martha Cohen, New York, and Mrs. Sam Levy, Denver.
Mrs. J. N. Lorber, Denver, president of the home since its inception, led a discussion on revision of the constitution and by-laws for the auxiliaries. Edwin J. Wittelshofer presided.
A sound movie of the children in the National Home was shown to those present. Today delegates will engage in sightseeing.
