Czech and French government officials are in talks to set up a special commission to resolve the long-running dispute over “Jew With a Fur Cap,” a painting attributed to Rembrandt. The commission will determine whether the painting belonged to French Jewish art collector Adolph Schloss before his 300-piece collection was confiscated by the Nazis during their occupation of France in 1940. France wants the painting back, but officials at the Czech National Gallery, which has had the painting since 1945, deny it originates from the Schloss collection.
