Czech Jews Protest Order Requiring Removal of German Inscriptions from Tombstones

The Council of Jewish Communities in Bohemia and Moravia has protested to the government against an order issued by regional authorities, requiring that German inscriptions be removed from all tombstones. Although the order is aimed at monuments bearing pro-Nazi inscriptions, it also affects German-speaking Jews who had German engravings placed on tombstones before the war.
