The DAIA has protested to Interior Minister Alberto Rocamora of Cordoba province over the provincial government’s decision to ban a scheduled meeting marking the 32nd anniversary of the Warsaw Ghetto uprising. In a letter to Rocamora, the central representative organization of Argentine Jewry rejected the Cordobas government’s excuse that it lacked the police power to ensure the security of the Warsaw Ghetto anniversary meeting, even in a closed hall. The DAIA letter said, “We never asked for police protection.” It asked the Minister for an explanation of “this regrettable situation.”
