Dr. Avraham Biran, District Commissioner of Jerusalem, arrived here today to assist in the Israel bond drive. He will visit a number of Jewish communities in this country.
Dr. Biran, who has been a member of the Israel-Jordan Armistice Commission, is a well known archaeologist. He is a former member of the staff of the American School of Oriental Research in Jerusalem, and has participated in numerous archaeological expeditions in the Middle East. A native of Israel, he received his advanced education in the United States, at the University of Pennsylvania and at Johns Hopkins University.
