Dr. S. Voronoff, thyroid gland expert, is en route to Persia in the hope that he will discover the secret of long life.
The physician, who with his brother drove through Palestine via Egypt on his way to Persia, said that he is in receipt of authentic reports from French doctors living in Teheran to the effect that people there were living to 140 years of age.
Although age is exaggerated in the East, the doctor said he has reason to believe that the reports are true. Outstanding cases of longevity are of people living in Ireland, many of them being 120 years old.
