The second lecture of the series conducted by the Jewish Theological Seminary of America will be delivered by Dr. Ephraim A. Speiser, Professor of Semitic Languages at the University of Pennsylvania, and Lecturer on the History of the Ancient Orient and on Biblical Philology at the Dropsie College, on Monday, December 12, at 8:30 P.M. in the Unterberg Auditorium of the Seminary.
He will speak on “The Historical Background of the Bible.”
Professor Speiser has recently returned from the Near East where he conducted an archaeological expedition under the joint auspices of Dropsie College and the Museum of the University of Pennsylvania.
