Dr. Sydney Goldstein, British-born Professor of Applied Mathematics at Harvard University, was elected chairman of the board of directors of Technion Institute, Israel’s technological research and training center at Haifa, it was announced here today. The 64-year-old scientist came to Israel in 1950, where he served under Technion’s then-president, Gen. Yaacob Dori. He is credited with a large role in shaping Technion’s programs, and in drawing up its operating procedures.
