The Society of Men of Letters, France’s most important literary group, today honored Edmond Fleg, French Jewish author and poet, on the occasion of his 80th birthday. The Society tendered him a reception at which he was presented with a special edition of his poems and selected prose works. In arranging the reception, the Society pointed out that this is the first time in its 130-year history that it thus honored any French writer.
