Emanu-el Congregation Concludes Observance of Its Centenary with Passover Services

The last of a series of services celebrating the 100th anniversary of Congregation Emanu-El was held here yesterday with a Centenary Service conducted by Dr. Louis L. Mann of Chicago and Rabbi Nathan A. Perilman of the Emanu-El congregation.

A Passover service to give thanks for one hundred years of Emanu-El was held on Tuesday night. The first services held by Congregation Emanu-El were conducted on Passover Eve, 1845, in rented rooms on Grand and Clinton Streets. Rev. Dr. Jonah B. Wise, Rabbi of the Central Synagogue and Rev. Dr. B. Benedict Glazer of Temple Beth-El, Detroit, delivered the Centenary addresses and Rev. Dr. Samuel H. Goldenson, Rabbi of Emanu-El preached the Centenary sermon.
