The Hebrew daily newspapers which did not appear yesterday, ostensibly in observance of May Day, today announced editorially that they had been compelled by the Laborites to refrain from publishing on that day.

The editorials strongly condemned the practice of the Laborites in forcing the non-Socialist press in Palestine not to appear on May Day. The Doar Hayom, an impartial Hebrew daily in Jerusalem, is especially severe in its editorial condemnation.

The Haaretz, a Hebrew liberal daily in Tel Aviv, publishes today an exchange of angry letters between M. Glickson, editor of the paper, and David Remez, Laborite leader. The correspondence discloses that the editor was compelled against his will not to publish his paper yesterday in observance of May Day.
