France welcomed Ariel Sharon’s praise of its efforts to quell anti-Semitism. “We have seen the statements by the Israeli prime minister saluting France for its determined action in fighting anti-Semitism, action which he said was of exemplary value,” French Foreign Ministry spokesman Herve Ladsous said Thursday, referring to remarks by Sharon the night before.
