French leaders will pay public homage Jan. 13 to Alfred Dreyfus. The Dreyfus Affair, which was launched when the French army captain was jailed in 1895 for selling French military secrets to Germany, helped to convince Theodor Herzl to dedicate himself to the creation of the Jewish state.
