The Georgia Hebrew conference, second permanent state union being organized under the auspices of the Union of American Hebrew Congregations in South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Tennessee, was established here yesterday. Morton H. Levy, of Savannah, was elected state chairman.

Other officers named were Max Michael, Athens, vice-chairman; and Herman Julius, Columbus, secretary. The purpose of the state union is to promote cooperation of congregations belonging to the U. A. H. C. and to undertake a program of religious education, particularly for Jewish children in rural districts.
