The head of the Berlin section of the German Party has announced that the rightist party would bring charges against the Berlin City Senate before the West German Supreme Constitutional Court as a result of a public declaration by the Senate last December charging the party with anti-Semitism.
The Berlin City Senate’s action followed a German Party rally in Berlin at which students and others were assaulted and insulted as Jews when they refused to sing outlawed stanzas of the anthem “Deutschland Uber Alles.” Various old Nazi anti-Semitic slogans were also introduced at the German Party rally.
The following day the Senate issued a statement condemning the rally and what had occurred at it, and plastered the city of Berlin with posters bearing this denunciation.
