The licensing authorities have prohibited the production of the “God of Vengeance” a play by Sholom Ash, noted New York playright.

The drama which was suppressed after several weeks on Broadway, the suppression being followed by the arrest and conviction of the producer and the cast headed by Rudolph Schildkraut, was performed here by a company of Jewish players from Vilna, Poland.

The Sunday EXPRESS drew attention to its alleged obscene character calling it a “Soul spectacle”.
