Jacques Goldberg, manager of the Paris office of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency, died Friday morning as a result of injuries he received when he was shot in the office of the Agency on Tuesday.
Jacob Bueger, 18, a native of Riga, was arrested on the charge of murder. Bueger, who was a starving student, had been employed by Goldberg and dismissed ten days later because of inefficiency. On Tuesday Bueger came into the office and fired four shots, two of which entered Goldberg’s body.
The funeral will take place on Sunday, May 27. Goldberg, who was forty years old, was a native of Odessa, Russia. He studied in Italy and France, and settled in Paris after the war. He had been in charge of the Paris office for four years when he met his death while continuing his faithful services. He was unmarried.
