The Jewish population of Vienna which was apprehensive of the results from the expected clash on Sunday between the Nationalists and Socialists, has received the assurances of the Austrian government that peace and order will be maintained during the demonstration of the Heimwehr.

The Heimwehr, a nationalist organization has repeatedly denied that anti-Semitism is one of its planks. Simul-taneously an official statement was made public declaring that the purpose of the Heimwehr is “to inculcate the Christian Nationalist conception.”
