Governor of Casablanca Visits Jewish Schools: Lauds Arabic Courses

Colonel Driss Ben-Omar, Governor of Casablanca, today visited Jewish schools conducted here by Alliance Israelite Universelle, as well as the locally aided Jewish schools which conduct nurseries for 8,000 orphans. The Governor expressed satisfaction with the manner in which Arabic courses are being developed at the Alliance schools.

Maeti Bouabid, president of the Casablanca Municipal Council, was guest of honor today at a reception of the Moroccan Ort held under the patronage of the Moroccan Minister of Education. Among those present were a representative of the Governor of Casablanca; Dr. Leon Benzaquen, former Moroccan Cabinet member and David Amar, prominent leader of the Jewish community here.
