Gratification at the total of $164,850 raised thus far in the Brooklyn Federation of Jewish Charities’ $500,000 twenty-fifth anniversary campaign was expressed last night by County Judge Alger-on I. Nova, chairman of the drive.
Approximately $20,000 more was obtained during the first four weeks of the campaign than during the corresponding period last year, Judge Nova declared, as he released a new list of contributions, annual subscriptions and special donations. Judge Nova further stated:
“If the campaign is to succeed as it must succeed, we must have the active help of all our workers and all our trade and professional groups, more than ninety in number, which are members of the Trade and Membership Council, the Federation’s money-raising organization. The increase thus far in campaign receipts is due to the efforts of a handful of individuals, and to the increased standard of giving on the part of a substantial number of our contributors.
URGES GREATER SOLICITATION
“the great mass of the public, from which must come the principal part of the remainder of the $500,000 we are seeking, is yet to be canvassed. Many of our individual workers as well as trade groups have not yet gotten under way. It is most urgent that every prospect be solicited without delay, and that complete reports be sent to headquarters at 94 Clinton street.”
