A court in Kavalla has ordered the Italian Lloyd Adriatica steamship line to pay 420,000 drachmas compensation to a Jewish employee in Greece who was dismissed under Italy’s anti-Semitic legislation after 38 years’ service. The court ruled that the “Greek constitution and legislation do not permit any racial or religious discrimination.”
