Hawaii’s governor set up a pretend appointment with former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak to cover up her hush-hush visit to Iraq. Linda Lingle, a Republican, joined five other governors this week in an Iraq visit shrouded in secrecy to keep them secure. Lingle’s spokesman announced that the Jewish governor would attend a Pearl Harbor anniversary wreath-laying ceremony Tuesday with Barak; that turned out to be a ploy to throw reporters off.
