The Frankfurter Zeitung today published a three-column article on “non-Aryans” in commerce. Although “non-Aryans” are allowed by law to work, they experience great difficulties owing to public confusion on the “Aryan clause,” the paper said.
The Nazi coordinated newspaper suggested that the Nazi government clarify the position, since the various Nazi trade associations have adopted. “Aryan clausus of their own, thus damaging “non-Aryans” in trade, despite the official orders for equality.
The Frankfurter Zeitung also pointed out that the Nazi leaders have forbidden the boycott against the Jews, yet in the cautious language of the paper, “the local press is not ready to cooperate.” Thus for the first time a German paper confirmed the reports published by the Jewish Telegraphic Agency to the effect that local Nazi leaders all over Germany disregarded orders issued by the central government to stop the boycott against Jewish business.
