In honor of Associate Justice Louis D. Brandeis, of the Supreme Court of the United States, a new constituent lodge of the Independent Order of B’rith Sholom was formed at a meeting held at the Lord Baltimore Hotel. The branch was named the Brandeis Lodge.
Marcy M. Ehudin was elected president of the lodge. Other officers are Emanuel Gorfine and Dr. A. H. Mendelsohn, vice-presidents; Sidney Bearman, recording secretary; Harold Prissman, financial secretary; Julius Shuger, treasurer, and Harry M. Shockett, sergeant at arms.
Alexander Goodman, member of the Maryland House of Delegates, presided at the meeting. Among the speakers were former State Senator Harry O. Levin; Harry Madanick, grand master of the B’rith Sholom, and Joseph Fax, former grand master.
