In the elections of Aldermen and Mayors in 3968 Brazilian municipalities, David Roizen was the only Jew to win an Alderman’s position. He received more than 38,000 votes to become an Alderman in Sao Paulo on the opposition list. Two other Jewish candidates in Sao Paulo lost. In Rio de Janeiro, all five candidates, on the government and opposition lists, were defeated.
