April 29, 1952
See Original Daily Bulletin From This Date

Socialist deputies today introduced a bill in the Austrian Parliament providing for payment of compensation to persons imprisoned by the Nazis. The bill stipulates that the payments be limited to those who were sentenced to prison terms by courts or who were detained by the police for “political, racial or religious reasons,” but does not apply to persons put into Nazi concentration camps without trial. The Catholic People’s Party is strongly opposed to the measure.
