Israel imposed a closure on the West Bank and Gaza Strip before the start of Rosh Hashanah. The closure came after the Palestinian Authority warned that terrorist groups may try to carry out a suicide attack in one of Israel’s cities. Israel has been bracing for a retaliatory attack that would mark the anniversary of the deaths of the Awadallah brothers, heads of Hamas’ military wing, at the hands of Israeli troops.
