Israel is expecting challenges from Arab countries and other supporters of the Palestinians during the 53rd session of the U.N. General Assembly. During the session, which began Wednesday, questions of sovereignty over Jerusalem and Israel’s possession of nuclear weapons are also expected to be raised. Israeli officials also say the Palestinians will likely use the session to strengthen their drive for statehood.
