A branch office of the Israel Purchasing Mission in Germany, which maintains its headquarters in Cologne, has been opened in West Berlin. It is under the direction of Dr. A Bergmann, one of the Mission’s two deputy chiefs.

In accordance with an understanding reached at the German-Israel negotiations in The Hague, Israel will place as many reparations orders as possible in West Berlin, which is an economically distressed area due to its island position within the Soviet Zone.
