Israel toned down its rhetoric regarding a water dispute with Lebanon. Israel “should certainly not be talking about war,” said Lt. Gen. Shaul Mofaz, the Israeli army’s chief of staff. The comments came as a U.N. spokesman said Israeli fears that Lebanon is trying to divert water supplies from the Jewish state are exaggerated.
