Israeli army circles have denied reports in the American press that Israel has deployed and stationed units on the Tiran and Sanapir Islands opposite Sharm el-Sheikh, the outlet of the Gulf of Eilat into the Red Sea. Israel, however, is maintaining regular patrols at the Islands which are populated by special sea birds and under the supervision of the Natural Reservations Authority.
