Israeli Cabinet Minister David Levy resigned from the Israeli government to protest proposed budget cuts. Levy also complained of being distanced from decision-making in the government. Levy, chairman of the Gesher Party, joined the government as a minister without portfolio following the Passover Eve terrorist attack in Netanya and the launching of Operation Defensive Shield in the West Bank.
