Israeli officials rejected a shipment of gas masks from Switzerland because the $180 price for each was double the market price, according to a source involved in the discussions. Israel also rejected another Swiss offer to ship 25,000 masks free of charge because the masks are more than 20 years old. Swiss officials subsequently offered 25,000 new masks for free, but their Israeli counterparts are now mulling whether they have enough masks from other sources.
