Israel’s attacks on Palestinian terrorist leaders have helped reduce attacks, a senior U.S. official said. David Satterfield, second-in-charge at the State Department’s Near East desk, told the Senate on Tuesday that a number of factors were involved in reducing attacks, but that the assassinations clearly were one.
