Israel’s Chief Rabbinate Council held elections to the Orthodox body after the High Court of Justice rejected a petition from the Na’amat women’s organization demanding that women be allowed to participate in the vote. Na’amat maintained that the lack of a single woman among the voters represented intentional discrimination.
