Israel’s defense minister advised the public to buy materials to prepare sealed rooms in case of an Iraqi attack. Speaking to reporters in the Knesset, Yitzhak Mordechai said that the chance of an Iraqi attack was extremely low, but added, “It would not hurt for civilians to have the necessary materials for a sealed room on hand. These materials are readily available.” His comment set off a buying frenzy in hardware stores around Israel.
