Israel’s Knesset gave preliminary approval to two bills that would require a special majority to approve a national referendum on any peace agreement. The Knesset also passed in a preliminary vote opposition bills that call for the annexation of all Jewish settlements in the territories if the Palestinians unilaterally declare an independent state.
