Israel’s new ambassador to Egypt flew to Cairo on Sunday. Shalom Cohen replaces Eli Shaked, who retired in December. Most recently, Cohen was the Foreign Ministry’s deputy director general for the Middle East. From 1996 to 2000, he was head of Israel’s delegation to Tunisia.
