Israel’s population increased by two percent over the past year, according to figures released by the Central Bureau of Statistics on the eve of Independence Day.
The population totals 4.170 million, of which 3.452 million (83 percent) are Jews; 552,000 (13 percent) Moslems; 97,000 (2.3 percent) Christians; and 69,000 (1.7 percent) Druze and others.
